Secrets 7

“And you have experience with this?” Will asked me.
“That’s not your concern, I’m just warning you. If tomorrow you tell me you’re gay, I’ll know what happened,” I told them. They both still stared me.
“Something you want to tell us? Cause I’m into you and if you’re not playing for that team, please tell me now,” Will said. I smiled and then started laughing.
“You think I’m into girls?” I asked gasping for air.
                “Are you?” Will asked
“No. I like guys,” I explained grabbing onto the counter for support.
“Thank the lord,” Will sighed. When we went into the living room, some of the girls and guys had fallen asleep.
I went around the house, taking in my surroundings. There was a living room, a kitchen, a dining room, two bathrooms, and three bedrooms on the first floor. I went up the stairs and looked around. Five bedrooms, a game room, three bathrooms, and a mini kitchen. I went back downstairs and found Will and Martin in the kitchen again looking through the fridge.
“Hey, Martin,” I said from the doorway.
“Yeah?” he asked looking at me.
“Mind if I sleep upstairs in one of the rooms?” I asked.
“Go ahead,” he shrugged and went back to searching the fridge. Will looked up at me and gave me a questioning glance.
“I like it quiet,” I shrugged and went upstairs. The master bedroom was empty. I went in there and over to the bed.
“Knock  knock,” someone said knocking on the door.
“Who’s there?” I asked.
“Will,” he replied.
“What do you want?” I asked standing.
“Came to make sure you were alright, I wasn’t sure if he had done something to you.” He said. The door groaned as he leaned against it.
“I’m fine. Really shaken up, but it’ll pass,” I shrugged.

Secrets 6

“Just take care of Martin, I’m be back in a few minutes,” I said when Will wouldn’t nod or let me go. He sighed and took Martin by the arm and led him to the kitchen. Without a word, I walked out of the house with him.
“You saw what happened when that boy got too close to someone, he tried to tell them. Even if it happened to be you. I still had to get rid of him. You know the same thing will happen to you if you tell anyone,” the man said as he led me towards the woods.
“I could have gotten him to keep him mouth shut,” I insisted.
“I did, permanently,” he smiled. “Do remember, you wanted him gone.”
“Don’t try and turn this me. I said I wanted him to stop bugging me. His blood is on your hands, not mine.” I snapped.
“And now he will stop bugging you. His blood is on your hands, literally. Metaphorically, I suppose it is my fault.”
“Damn straight it is your fault,” I nodded.
“I suggest you should wash your hands, babe,” he smiled.
“Are we done here? I’m tired.” I sighed.
                “Sweet dreams Chloe,” he said.
“Oh, and back off the party. You’re scaring everyone,” I said as I walked away.
“Okay,” he called. I went back into the house and everyone stared at me.
“Sup,” I said awkwardly. The music came back on and I slipped back into the kitchen. Will and Martin were in there throwing ice at each other. “This stuff next ends well,” I sighed. “The good part is, if you get hit we can just say put some ice on it and laugh.” I said and they stopped.
“What do you mean it doesn’t end well?” Martin asked.
“First it like, ‘we’re just throwing ice at each other’ then after a little you’re making out against the fridge,” I explained. They both just stared at me. “It happens!”

Secrets 5

“So, who’s going to be there?” I asked as Will drove.
“I’m not really sure, probably like thirty people or something, I think most people don’t want to be around the crime scene,” Will replied.
“Cool,” I nodded looking out the window.
When we pulled up to the cabin the music was still blaring at top volume. There were still police cars in the front and reporters.
“Earlier tonight, the body of Simon Heralds was found by classmate Chloe Gates,” We heard the reporter say. The Coroners were carrying Simon’s body into the ambulance we were passing causing me to freeze.
“Come on Chloe,” Will whispered into my ear putting a hand on my elbow to nudge me. We made it into the house where we saw about twenty people sitting around or looking out the window. When the door closed behind us everyone jumped and looked over at us. “Hey everyone,” Will said quietly.
                “Hey Will,” Some said.
                “Hey Chloe,” others said.
Will walked past me to the guy who threw the party, Martin. “I’m sorry this happened Martin,” he said.
“It’s just kinda creepy, thinking that there was a killer at this party,” Martin said. “There are drinks and snacks in the kitchen if anyone wants anything.”
“Thanks,” I nodded walking past the two of them. While I was in the kitchen I heard the door slam shut and the music was cut.
“I’m looking for Chloe, Chloe Gates,” a voice said from the front room. I grabbed a Dr. Pepper, and walked to the doorway. The guy was wearing all black, black shoes, black jeans, black, shirt, and a black hoodie. From under the hoodie all you could see were his full lips and small nose. Even though I had never seen him in such bright light, I knew who he was, and what he wanted.
“Dude, who are you?” Martin asked.
“I’m looking for Chloe Gates,” he repeated.
“I heard you the first time, now who are you?” Martin asked again.
“Come out Chloe, come out of hiding,” he said in a taunting voice. I let my silky, long, copper hair fall over my shoulders and a little over my eyes.
“Dude, you need to get out of here,” Martin said when he started moving forward. Martin grabbed his arm and He punched him right in the jaw.
“I’m here,” I said, my voice strong and clear. He looked up and smiled at me with his pearly whites. I walked over to him and helped Martin up. “Get him some ice,” I said to Will.
“No, I’m not leaving you alone with this creep,” Will objected.
“I’m flattered Will, really, but I really don’t need a knight in shining armor,” I replied.

Secrets 4

"What happened when you got over to her Will?" the officer asked turning his attention back to Will.
"Well, she screamed and I ran over to see if she was ok. When I got to her, I saw her staring at Simon so I pulled her to me so she didn't have to look at him anymore," Will said.
                "Chloe?" the officer asked.
"Sort of, I guess," I shrugged.
"What do you mean?" asked the officer.
"Well yeah I screamed and yeah, Will ran over but I don't really remember him pulling to him. I couldn't really wrap my head around anything except the fact that Simon was dead. So I don't know if that really happened. I was thinking about me yelling at him and how it might have been my fault. But I do remember being really close to a warm body," I explained.
                “Close enough,” Will smirked.
“Officer, what time is it?” I asked.
“It’s almost three in the morning,” the officer replied.
“That explains why I’m so tired,” I nodded waiting for him to take the hint.
“You two are free to go. I may call you back in for questioning but until then, keep safe,” the officer said and stood. Will and I stood, shook hands with the officer and left.
Outside the police station Will walked over to me and tapped on my shoulder. “So, apparently, there is this big sort of stay up at Davina’s because no one really wants to be alone right now,” Will said when I turned to look at him.
                “And?” I asked.
“Well uh, I was wondering if you wanted to go,” he said running a hand through his dark hair.
“I’m not really interested, why would you want me to go?” I shrugged.
“Honestly, I’m worried. I just don’t want you to be alone tonight,” Will said.
“Worried the killer might come after me?” I asked a sly smile touching my lips.
                “Actually yes,” Will nodded.
“Well, in that case, since you’re so worried about me, I’ll go,” I sighed.
“Awesome, so do you need a ride?” Will asked.
“As a matter of fact I do,” I smiled.
“Come on then,” Will smiled leading me to a Silver Honda Ridgeline. I lifted myself into the tall seat and closed the door.

Secrets 3

"Thanks," Will nodded and walked in. I walked over to the receptionist and waited until she acknowledged me.
"Do you have any books I can read?" I asked.
                "Sorry, no," she smiled.
"Thanks anyways," I sighed and sat back down. I picked up a magazine and flipped through the pages, not really paying attention.
"Chloe, he wants to see us both," Will said popping his head out the door.
"Finally," I murmured standing. Will moved aside as I stepped through the doorway. "So," I said plopping back down in one of those awful chairs.
"Mr. Packs, what were you doing right before Ms. Gates found Simon's body?" the officer asked looking at Will.
"I already told you, I was watching Chloe," Will blushed.
                "Told you!" I said triumphantly.
"You thought I was looking at you?" Will asked looking at me.
"No, I knew you were looking at me," I smirked.
                "How?" Will asked.
                "I'm not blind," I laughed.
                "Why?" the officer interrupted.
"What?" both of us asked looking over at him.
"Why were you watching her?" the officer asked.
"I was going to go ask her if she wanted to dance with me," Will said turning a deeper shade of red.
                "Then what happened?" officer asked.
"She looked over, I smiled she looked into the woods, then screamed," Will said.
                "Do you agree Chloe?"
"Yes, that's what happened," I nodded.
