"What
happened when you got over to her Will?" the officer asked turning his
attention back to Will.
"Well,
she screamed and I ran over to see if she was ok. When I got to her, I saw her
staring at Simon so I pulled her to me so she didn't have to look at him anymore,"
Will said.
"Chloe?"
the officer asked.
"Sort
of, I guess," I shrugged.
"What
do you mean?" asked the officer.
"Well
yeah I screamed and yeah, Will ran over but I don't really remember him pulling
to him. I couldn't really wrap my head around anything except the fact that
Simon was dead. So I don't know if that really happened. I was thinking about
me yelling at him and how it might have been my fault. But I do remember being
really close to a warm body," I explained.
“Close
enough,” Will smirked.
“Officer,
what time is it?” I asked.
“It’s
almost three in the morning,” the officer replied.
“That
explains why I’m so tired,” I nodded waiting for him to take the hint.
“You
two are free to go. I may call you back in for questioning but until then, keep
safe,” the officer said and stood. Will and I stood, shook hands with the
officer and left.
Outside
the police station Will walked over to me and tapped on my shoulder. “So, apparently,
there is this big sort of stay up at Davina’s because no one really wants to be
alone right now,” Will said when I turned to look at him.
“And?”
I asked.
“Well
uh, I was wondering if you wanted to go,” he said running a hand through his
dark hair.
“I’m
not really interested, why would you want me to go?” I shrugged.
“Honestly,
I’m worried. I just don’t want you to be alone tonight,” Will said.
“Worried
the killer might come after me?” I asked a sly smile touching my lips.
“Actually
yes,” Will nodded.
“Well,
in that case, since you’re so worried about me, I’ll go,” I sighed.
“Awesome,
so do you need a ride?” Will asked.
“As
a matter of fact I do,” I smiled.
“Come
on then,” Will smiled leading me to a Silver Honda Ridgeline. I lifted myself
into the tall seat and closed the door.
